He is survived by: his sons, Anthony Spitzer (Diane Van Hoozer) of Kalona, Bruce Spitzer of Aurora, Illinois, Craig Spitzer (Bill Aasberg) of Kalona and David Spitzer of Milan, Illinois; his grandchildren, Cody Spitzer, Jesse Spitzer (Becky), Travis Hartley (Teresa) and Sheena Hartley; his great grandchildren, Mason, Braden, Sage, Aviana and Stella; his sister Joan Gould; and his sister-in-law Margaret Spitzer of Corpus Christi, Texas..
