David Spangler Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 28, 2025, at the age of 65, David Spangler of Kanawha, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Spangler and Patricia Spangler (Pierce). He is survived by: his wife Julie Spangler of Kanawha; his daughter Rebecca McCune (Zac) of Urbandale; his grandchildren, Zella, Nova and Mavis; his daughter Melinda Boege (David) of Johnston; his grandchildren, Madison and Mila; his son Matthew Spangler (Chelsea Ray) of Forest City; his grandchildren, Joseph, Miles, McCoy, Frankee and Charlie; his sisters, Margaret Spangler (Kenny Boerjan), Lisa Smidt (Paul), Caroline Andersen (Reggie) and Stephanie Specht (Chris); and his mother-in-law Pat Sampson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A wake will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 at 5:30 PM at the Ewing Funeral Home (118 E 2nd St, Kanawha, IA 50447). Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Kanawha Lutheran Church (125 W 4th St, Kanawha, IA 50447). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
