He was predeceased by: his mother Mildred Irene Deaton (Slippy); his wife Peggy Sue Deaton; his parent Carroll Deaton; and his sister Marilyn Allhouse. He is survived by: his children, Michael Jr. (Amy) of Boone and Maria (Shawn Hall) of Ames; his siblings, Jerry Deaton of Neveda, Joyce Johannes of Tama, Larry Deaton (Banita) of McCallsburg and Lynn Deaton (Rhonda) of Huxley; his grandchildren, Sacha, Marya, Austin, Desiree, Jon, Natalie, Adam and Brooklyn; and his great grandchildren, Akaylia, Luca, Malakai and Sawyer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and cousins.
