He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Ehler and Birdie Ehler (Stacy); his wife Sylvia Shrum; his children, Thomas Ehler and Julie Ehler; and his brothers, Max Ehler, Elmer "Henry" Ehler and Martin Ehler (Linda).
He is survived by: his family Gilman; his daughters, Kristi Ehler of Newton and Susan Vititoe of Grinnell; his grandsons, Zachary Vititoe and Hunter Roberts (Kyle); and his sister-in-law Janis Ehler of Kellogg. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials to the Kellogg Fire and Ambulance may be left at the funeral home.
