He was predeceased by: his parents, James Helgeson and Lulu Helgeson (Nessa); his close friend Duane Larson; his wife Beverly; his son Timothy; his parents-in-law, Everett and Edna Boutelle; his stepfather-in-law Heinz Seamann; his brothers-in-law, Bob, Russell and Dave; Norman, Marlene and Kay Backhaus.
He is survived by: his children, Steven Helgeson (Sally), Dr. Rodney Helgeson (Jennifer) and Lori Peters (Mike); his grandchildren, Brittany (Danny), Brandon, Makayla, Shaun, Joseph "Joey" (Blaire), Caelan (Ayla), Connor, Tyler and Jacob; his great grandchildren, Jayson and Jaymes; his siblings, Joan, Jimmy, Ronald, Betty, Bobby and Kevin; his sister-in-law Nancy; and his close friends, Tom and Marilyn Hanna.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Elk Creek Lutheran Church (4108 Killdeer Ave, Kensett, IA 50448). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Elk Creek Lutheran Cemetery (4108 Killdeer Ave, Kensett, IA 50448).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elk Creek Lutheran Church.
