She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Francis and Maree Iola Boyd Buerklin; her husband George A. Swanson; her brother Gene; and her sister-in-law Carole Buerklin.
She is survived by: her nephew James Buerklin (Kimberly); her great-nieces, Grace Buerklin of Keokuk and Sujata Buerklin; her goddaughters, Raeann Salter and Resa Lovan; Aspen of Fairfield and Saylor of Fairfield.
A memorial gathering was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Vigen Memorial (1328 Concert St, Keokuk, IA 52632).
Memorials may be made to the Jackson Township Fire Department.
