He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles R. McCarty and Bernice E. Jones McCarty; his sons, Lonnie McCarty, Jr. and Tony McCarty; his grandson Ethan Morgan; and his brother Richard Dick McCarty.
He is survived by: his children, Timothy Joseph McCarty of Keokuk, Whitney McCarty of Keokuk, Tyler McCarty of Ionia, MI, Danielle Hambleton (Joe) of Keokuk, Samantha McCarty of Keokuk, Dillan J. McCarty of Keokuk, Sean McCarty of Keokuk and Chloe McCarty of Keokuk; his siblings, Debbie Jinkens (Rick) of Wayland, MO, Robert McCarty (Renee) of Keokuk and Larry McCarty (Eveline) of Camas, WA; and his friend Carol Calhoun. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren.
