It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gilbert Stecker of Keosauqua, Iowa, who passed away on August 3, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Stecker and Nellie Stecker (Meyers); his son Marty Stecker; his grandson Kyle Breech; and his siblings, Lester, Dean Stecker, Rhea Brombaugh and Neva Carter.
He is survived by: his wife Merial; his children, Denise Carlson (Chuck), Tamara Lucero (Rick) and Eric Stecker (Amy); his sister Irma Elliott; his grandchildren, Tara Simmons (BJ), Breanne McEntee (Matt), Michael Breech (Andi), Shane DeFraia (Hadley), Philip Stecker (Haylee) and Levi Lucero; his great grandchildren, Ryder Simmons, MaColie, Brinley McEntee, Brandon, Tyler, Gavyn Breech, Emilia, Zeke DeFraia, Haiden and Ezra Stecker; and his stepgrandchildren, Molly Pilcher, Denae Moyle, Dustin Gonterman, Travis Gonterman and Brandon Kramer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
