He was predeceased by : his parents, Dwight DeHart and Pearl Peacock DeHart; his wife Shirley Jack; his grandson Colby Calhoun; and his siblings, Blaine DeHart and Minona Mueller.

He is survived by : his children, Doug DeHart (Bobbie) of Keosauqua, Bill DeHart (Karen) of Runnells, Steve DeHart (Toni) of Keosauqua, Judy Manning (Matt) of Keosauqua, Janet Jensen (Jerry) of Ankeny and Jill Louth (Terry) of Birmingham; his grandchildren, Rick DeHart, Jason DeHart, Michelle Pagliai (DeHart), Kris DeHart, Monica Heard (DeHart), Allison DeHart, Stephanie Vannevel (DeHart), Nathan Manning, Amanda Maras (Manning), Andrew Manning, Ashley Rathjen (Calhoun), Jake Louth and Zach Louth; and his brother Larry DeHart. He is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren.
