He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Hugh and Susan Seyb Alvis; his siblings, Johnny Ray Alvis, Carl Washburn and Amanda Dille; and his nephews, Alexander Yell and Angel Alvis.

He is survived by: his wife Brier Gregg; his sons, Joey Barrows and Logan Putnam; his stepsons, Daniel Salyers and Jon Salyers; his siblings, Chris Washburn of Keokuk, Lily Jones (David) of Keokuk, Mary Atchison (Robert) of Wichita, Jessica Yell (Anthony) of Wichita and Tayla Alvis of Wichita; and his stepmother Ann Alvis of Wichita. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
