He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Carr and Marna Carr (Thornburg); his former wife Marcia Carr (Schmitt); and his brother Tom Carr. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Carr; his children, Missy Rotenburger of Trenton, IA, Mary Jane Mast (Alton) of Cantril, IA, Jolene Nusbaum (Jim) of Keosauqua, IA and Mark Roberts (Lisa) of Penrose, CO; his grandchildren, Brett Boyd, Scott Mast (Abilene), Wayne Mast, Julia Davis (Garrett), Shayla Rotenburger, Kelli Rotenburger, Jace Roberts (Desiray), Sarah Nolting (AJ), Lane Davis, Kadence Nusbaum, Kamden Nusbaum and Lex Farner; his great grandchildren, Eli Boyd, Elena Mast, Case Mast, Blakley Roberts, Watson Roberts and Miles Detrick; and his brother Rex Carr (Nancy).
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cranston Family Funeral Home (1517 Broad St, Keosauqua, IA 52565). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Cranston Family Funeral Home - Keosauqua (1517 Broad St, Keosauqua, IA 52565).
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be used for a 4-H scholarship in Melvin's honor.
