She was predeceased by : her parents, Frank Vance and Fern Vance (Smith); her husband Wally; and her siblings, Charles Vance (Dottie), Betty Grace (Dale), Louise Spaur (Frank), Janice Sinnott (John), Judy Sinclair (Al) and Patty Barnhill (Rex).

She is survived by : her sons, Ron (Lisa) of Dubuque and Steve (Sandra) of Iowa City; her grandchildren, Alexa Meyer (Jordan) of Waukee, Jon Armstrong (Danielle) of Apple River, Ean Armstrong of Dubuque, Alex Armstrong (Claudia) of Solon, Ian Armstrong (Hannah) of Iowa City, Seth Armstrong of Iowa City and Catalina Armstrong of Iowa City; her great grandchildren, Rory, Ries, Remy, Anastasia, Amara and Max; her nephews, Clay Grace, Roy Grace, Mike Vance and Bernie Sinnott; and her niece Elaine Robinson (Grace). She is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A funeral service was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM and at 12:00 PM at the Knoxville First United Methodist Church (313 E Montgomery St, Knoxville, IA 50138). A burial was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 12:45 PM to 1:15 PM at the Graceland Cemetery (102 Willetts Dr, Knoxville, IA 50138).
