She was predeceased by: her parents, Shirley Westbrook Townsend and Bertha Gladys McDanel Townsend; her former husbands, James Homer Weldon and Harry Stevenson; her husband Charles Earl Stevens; her son Melvin Weldon; her siblings, Shirley Townsend, Leroy Townsend and Pauline Coop; her sons-in-law, Ray Ellison, Jay Brown and Terry Heigele; and her great grandchild Josiah Webb.
She is survived by: her children, Jerry Weldon (Sheila), Jo Heigele and Dee Alexander (Marion); and her daughter-in-law Shirley Ellison. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Marion County Humane Society, the United Way of Marion County, Iowa, or Marion County, Iowa Habitat for Humanity.
