With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Johnson of Knoxville, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 29, 2025 at the age of 58. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

While his presence may be gone, his impact lives on in the kindness shown to others and the joy found in the ordinary moments of life.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Johnson and Lois Johnson (Bingham); his parents-in-law, Michael, Sharon Hoch and Ben Shinn Jr.; his brother Martin; and his great-nephew Hayden Bacus.
He is survived by: his wife Valerie Hoch. He is also survived by his wife of 34 years; two children; six grandchildren; and many other family and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Pierschbacher Funeral Homes - Knoxville (309 W Main St, Knoxville, IA 50138). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Richard had many passions and with his sudden illness and passing, it is requested that memorials be made in care of his family, so they may thoughtfully honor those passions dearest to him.
