He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Franklin and Gertrude Elizabeth Smith (Kinsman); his wife Audrey Ann Nead; and his siblings, Helen, Gertrude, Phyllis, Mary, Tom, Hugh, Arthur and George.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Roberts (Will), Paul Smith (Karen), Cindy Wissink (Brad) and Kathy Neal (John). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 8 great- grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 6 step-great grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the First Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Graceland Cemetery (102 Willetts Dr, Knoxville, IA 50138).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.
