He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Nelsen and Lillie Nelsen (Christensen); and his siblings, Ronald Nelsen, Marjorie Hale and Leland Nelsen.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Nelsen of Lake Park; his children, Lee Nelsen of Lake Park, LeeAnn Reetz (Donald) of Milford, Iowa and Dawn Goodell (Doug) of Lake Park, Iowa; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Reetz, Ethan Reetz, Seth Goodell and Nathan Goodell; and his siblings, Norma Dotson of Spencer, Stella Stahly of Lake Park and Dan Nelsen (Mary) of Spencer. He is also survived by nephews, nieces and many other relatives and friends.
