He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Morarend and Phyllis Morarend (Noack); his siblings, Caryles Morarend (Bonnie), Leanna Morarend, JoAnn Young and Kevin Morarend; his daughter-in-law Carol Spatafora; and his brother-in-law Steve Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Morarend; his children, Shane Morarend and Melissa Ishman (Brett); his granddaughter Emerson Ishman; his sister Karen Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Laura Morarend and Rick Young.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Shep's Riverside Bar and Grill (10 S Front St, Lansing, IA 52151). The military honors will be held on Saturday, May 17th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Lansing VFW.
