He was predeceased by: his parents, Neal Reicks and Alice Reicks (Huinker); his stepmother Vernice Reicks; his brother James Reicks (Jim); and his in-laws, Kilian and Elaine Bodensteiner.
He is survived by: his wife Lynnie of Lawler, IA; his children, Benjamin Reicks of Las Cruces, NM, Zachary Reicks (Lucy) of Clive, IA, Alison Thompson (Derek) of Decorah, IA, Abigail Bucheit (Dan) of Ankeny, IA and Annalee Fencl (Cody) of Decorah, IA; his grandchildren, Carter Proffitt, Zoey, Fred, Harvey Reicks, Sydney, Elena, Drew Thompson, Frances, August, Vincent Bucheit, Eloise, Franklin and George Fencl; his siblings, Lois Thorkelson (Lance) of Rochester, MN, Elaine Reicks of Fayette, IA, Carol Reicks, Jane Scheidel (Tim) of Lawler, IA, Nancy Dallenbach (Tom) of Waterloo, IA and Mark Reicks (Karen) of Osakis, MN; and his in-laws, Shari Reicks of Waukon, IA, Barb Howe (Tommy) of Houston, TX, Mike (Laura), Kathy Jirak (Stan) of Monroe, WA, Becky Eichenberger (Jeff) of New Hampton, IA, Randy Bodensteiner of Gonvick, MN, Julie Ungerer of West Salem, WI, Jack Bodensteiner (Sherri) of Nederland, TX and Terri Arends of Mason City, IA.
