He was predeceased by: his father LeRoy Vos; his grandparents, Clarence, Jennie Vos, Walter and Jennie Jansma; his siblings-in-law, Randy Widman and Nomi Vos; and his great-niece Hope Widman.
He is survived by: his significant other Carmen Derynck of Lawton, Iowa; his son Brian Vos (Alyssa) of Little Rock, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Poppy and Paxton Vos; his stepsons, Kollin Derynck (Alyssa) of Little Rock and Kellen Derynck (Amanda) of Hinton, Iowa; his mother June Vos of Kingsley, Iowa; and his siblings, Janna Widman-Walton (Craig) of Lawton, Iowa and Russell Vos of Sioux City, Iowa. He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Peace Reformed Church (4100 Outer Dr N, Sioux City, IA 51108). A prayer was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at the Banner Township Cemetery.
He served on the Capital Campaign Committee for the June E. Nylen Cancer Center and as a board member of the Mercy One Siouxland Foundation.
