He was predeceased by : his father Nelson Callfas; and his mother-in-law Madeline Callfas. He is survived by : his son Everdina Vander Well (Bloem); his wife Jane Vander Well of Le Mars; his children, Don Vander Well, Dan Vander Well (Donna) and Victoria Vander Well; his grandchildren, Jacki Blackerby (Kerry) and Jeremy Vander Well; his great grandchildren, Shyanne and Hudson Blackerby; his brother Dean Vander Well (Jeanne); and his brother-in-law Jim Callfas (Karol).

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Bud's name to the American Legion Wasmer Post 241 in Le Mars.
