She was predeceased by: her parents, Ben Gotto and Loretta Gotto (McDermott); her parents-in-law, John "Jack" and Florence Gengler; her husband Mike Gengler; her son Deacon Paul Gengler; her grandchildren, Elsa Gengler and Michael Gengler; her siblings, Karen Hagar (Bob), Donna Hoffman (Charles), Linda Hemmelrick and Lawrence "Buzz" Gotto; and her siblings-in-law, Margaret Rassel (Wayne), Patsy Gengler, Jack Gengler (Shirley) and Larry Mullally.
She is survived by: her children, Richard Gengler (Annabelle) of Le Mars, IA, Teresa Held (Scott) of Hinton, IA and Lisa Schnepf (Steve) of Le Mars, IA; her daughter-in-law Denise Gengler of Le Mars; her grandchildren, Sarah Gengler (Shahryar Naqvi), Erica Gengler, Austin Gengler (Kara), Zachary Gengler (Simone), Jacob Gengler, Adam Stanley (Dawn), Justin Held (Amanda), Jamie Held, Alison Snyder (Colby), Mackenzie Schnepf (Alex Campbell) and Rylee Schnepf (Xavier Galles); her sisters, Jo Ellen Mullally of Storm Lake, IA, Patty Mullally (Tom) of Le Mars, IA and Vicki Lamp (Jeff) of Le Mars, IA; and her brother-in-law Bill Gengler of Le Mars, IA. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
A rosary was held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 at 1:45 PM at the Rexwinkel Funeral Home - Le Mars (107 12th St SE, Le Mars, IA 51031). Visitation was held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM and at 12:00 PM. A prayer was held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the All Saints Catholic Parish - St. James (109 6th Ave SW, Le Mars, IA 51031). A burial was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Calvary Cemetery. A funeral Mass was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the All Saints Catholic Parish - St. James (109 6th Ave SW, Le Mars, IA 51031).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to All Saints Parish or Gehlen Catholic School.
