He is survived by: his children, Robert (Jan Herkelman), Linda (Terry Miller) and Marion (Kathryn Van Fosson); his grandchild Dwighta; his children, Sam (Karen Herkelman), Melvin Herkelman of Walcott, Connie Probasco of Des Moines and Dee (Jerry Winebrenner); and his siblings, Marilyn Burkheimer of Ames, Carol Van Fosson of Mitchellville and David Herkelman of Cimmaron, Kansas. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 11 great, great grandchildren.
