He was predeceased by: his parents, Forest Glen and Etta Kathleen Decker (Bardwell); and his brother Bill Goin. He is survived by: his wife Sherrie Decker of Unionville, Missouri; his sons, Sam Decker, Jr. (Nicky) of Kansas City and Shane Decker (Jenny) of Banner, Illinois; his grandchildren, Bailey (Alan), Jackson, Brynlee, Hannah and Addison; and his brothers, Andy Decker (Vicky) of Corydon and Benjamin Decker (Karen) of Smithville, Missouri. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
