He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry James and Bernita Jean Abel (Wineinger); his brother Billy Abel; and his son-in-law T. J. Swan. He is survived by: his close friend Lisa McCulley of Mercer, Missouri; his daughters, Andrea Abel (Matt Smith) of Garden Grove and Abbie Abel of Humeston; his grandchildren, Gracie Ericson, Keith Baughman, Ryan Hofmann, Jaycee Hampton and Walker Swan; and his sister Kim Hysell (Steve) of Humeston. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
A memorial fund has been established by the family.
