It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Lee Johnson of Lester, Iowa, born in Emmetsburg, Iowa, who passed away on January 11, 2026, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Johnson and Viola Johnson (Chism); and his granddaughter Mekela Johnson (Erpelding). He is survived by: his wife Madonna Erpelding of Estherville; his children, Gregory Johnson (Lana) of Tomahawk, WI, Jay Johnson (Kristy) of Watertown, SD, Jacqueline English (Louis) of Evanston, IL and Ann Infusino (Anthony) of Palatine, IL.; his grandchildren, Melody Egan (Cody), Kelsey Kothe (Tyler), Benjamin Johnson, Justin Johnson (Morgan), Danika Burros (Jon), Lauren Dott (Collin), Grant English, Julia English, Dominic Infusino and Gianna Infusino; and his great grandchildren, Jackson, Emily Egan, Deegan Kothe, Reagan, Baylor Johnson and Baker Burros.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Estherville Ambulance Service.
