He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Castle and Inez Castle (Hessman); his stepfather Earl Price; his wife Gladys A. Barnhart; and his brother Arnold Castle.
He is survived by: his children, Richard "Eugene" Castle Jr. (Pat) of Muscatine, Randy Castle (Debbi) of Muscatine, Ron Castle (Tracy) of Muscatine, Rick Castle (Ann) of Moscow, Marilyn Shaw (Tim) of Muscatine, Carolyn BeVier (John) of Muscatine and Erin Dindinger (Bruce Lipkowitz). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 2 bonus grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; 2 bonus great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services (2907 Mulberry Ave, Muscatine, IA 52761-2750). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the High Prairie United Methodist Church (625 E Vine St, Letts, IA 52754).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the High Prairie United Methodist Church or St. Jude's Children's Hospital in memory of Richard.
