He was predeceased by: his parents, Ulrich Balk and Rose Balk (Weinfurter); and his siblings, Julius, James, Walter, Arthur, Leona, Reuben, Rita, Alma, Robert and Donald.
He is survived by: his siblings, Ron Balk of Cresco, IA, Francis Balk of Osage, IA and Patricia Melver of Cresco, IA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
