He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Sr. Bendgen and Rose Bendgen (Welch); his wife Barbara Leonard; and his brother-in-law Kenneth Leonard (Bette). He is survived by: his children, Bob Bendgen (Patti) of Waukee, Jim Bendgen (Marcy) of Griswold, Cheryl Bendgen of Woodbine, Rick Bendgen (Christina) of Hephzibah, Joe Bendgen (Karen) of Middletown and Chuck Bendgen (Mary) of Boynton Beach, Florida; his siblings, Mary Alice Gessner (Frank) of Port Charlotte and Leonard Bendgen of Jacksonville, Florida; and his sister-in-law Carol Brookhouser (Jim) of Lake Park, Georgia. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Anne's Catholic Church (112 W 3rd St, Logan, IA 51546). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at the Woodbine Cemetery (8 B 13th St, Woodbine, IA 51579).
