He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Hanks and Susan Hanks (Murray); and his siblings, Charles'Jack'Hanks, Chester'Chet'Hanks, Ferris Hanks, Ruby Thompson, Florence Aldrich, Rose, Harland and Harold.
He is survived by: his daughter Kelli Diann Hanks (John); his wife Joyce Joan Kadel; his son Mitch Hanks; his grandchildren, Danielle Lorack (Brennan), Taylor Forbes and Madison Keltner (Bryar); and his great grandchildren, Morgan Lorack, Dalton Lorack, Gannon Lorack, Jordy Forbes and Kellen Forbes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to the Lone Tree Fire and Rescue in memory of Don.
