He was predeceased by: his parents, Justin Burns and Rose Burns (Kasper); his brother-in-law Bill Neuzil; his nephew Lucas Johnson; his great-nephew Justin Ash; and his great-niece Natalie Dimpfl.

He is survived by: his siblings, Stuart (Carol) of Maineville, OH, Janet Johnson of Bethlehem, GA, Stan (Shellie), Brian (Nancy Blake) of Iowa City, Julie Neuzil of Oxford, IA and Marlene "Charlie" Peters (Bob) of Mound, MN. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moments Hospice or Lone Tree Senior Lunch Program.
