She was predeceased by: her parents, David Marine and Helen Marine (Ayers); her in-laws, Frank and Wilma Mills; her siblings, Wilna Marine, Leroy Marine and Lyle Marine; her granddaughter Michaela Duvall; and her nephews, Dwight Marine and Gordon Mills.
She is survived by: her husband Keith "Doc" Mills; her children, Pamela Stone (Stewart) of Charles City, Kevin Mills of Riverside and Lauri Duvall (Max) of Davenport; her grandsons, Nathan Krueger (Tracey), Daniel Krueger (Chris) and Joseph Krueger; and her great grandchildren, Isabel Krueger, Marcus Krueger, Anya Clauson, Kiley Clauson, Allie Krueger and Jameson Krueger. She is also survived by several great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established for the Lone Tree Presbyterian Church in Velma's name.
