He was predeceased by : his parents, Ralph Nelson and Dorothy Nelson (Farnam); and his brother Dale (Betty). He is survived by : his wife Betty J. Steele; his sons, Tim Nelson (Cathy) of Durant, Jim Nelson (Julie) of Garden Grove, Carl Nelson (Brenda) of Iowa City and Randy Nelson (Christy) of Rock Island; his grandchildren, Josh, Alicia, Sam, Scott, Brett, Kristie, Acasia, Brandon, Bethany and Amanda; his great grandchildren, Alric Cross and Presley Nelson; his nieces and nephews, Tom Nelson, Bart Steele, Wendy Nelson and Tiffany Steele West (Michael); and his brother Don Nelson (Kathryn) of Illinois.
