He is survived by: his wife Sunny Horstmann; his daughters, Penny Vacek (Jeff) of Oxford Junction and Colleen Benhart (Aaron) of Lisbon; his stepchildren, Ky Soucinek (Julie) of Bettendorf and Kelli Akers (Joe) of Davenport; his grandchildren, Emma Adams (Scott) of Wheatland and Reece Vacek of Wheatland; his stepgrandchildren, Claire, Henry, Liliah Akers of Davenport, Carter Collins (Elena) of Colorado and Mason Collins of Colorado; his sisters, JoAnne Horstmann of Lost Nation and LuAnn Horstmann of Tennessee; and his siblings' children, Will Horstmann of Utah, Vicki Brenner of Cedar Rapids and Cheryl Eller of Arizona.

Memorials may be made to the Wheatland or Lost Nation Volunteer Fire Departments.
