She was predeceased by: her parents, Lillian Brendes (Dreyer) and Walter Brendes; her daughter Kristen; her brother Kenneth Brendes; and her great grandchild Mia Eckhardt.
She is survived by: her husband Jim Kruckenberg; her children, Scott Kruckenberg (Jody) and Mindy Kruckenberg; her grandson Nate Eckhardt (Jackie); her great grandchildren, Gianna "Gigi" and Nate Jr.; her grandson Nic Eckhardt of Cedar Rapids; and her sister Kay Fischer of Peoria. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family, The Arc of East Central Iowa or Zion United Church of Christ.
