She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Smith and Helen Smith (Grimm); her husband Vernon Soderstrum; her siblings, Lois Barnes (George) and Ray Smith; and her in-laws, Retta Soderstrum, Shirley Peterson, Weldon Soderstrum and Ruth Ann Danner (Dick).
She is survived by: her children, Cheryl Randall (Mark) and Kurt Soderstrum (Peg); her grandchildren, Tyler Randall (Jess), Alex Randall (Kimberly), Jamie Terwilliger (Jordan), Erin Waldock (Wyatt) and Jessie Soderstrum (Jason Doland); her great grandchildren, Roy, Dean, Blaine, Reagan, Emmett, Emilia and Wrenley; and her in-laws, Jerry Peterson, Doris Soderstrum and Mildred Smith. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel (1006 6th St, Boone, IA 50036). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorials be given to either the Eastern Star Masonic Home or Sacred Encounter Hospice.
