He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Matter and Leona Matter (Scharn); his wife Mary; and his sister Darla Noel (Jon). He is survived by: his sons, Scott Matter of Des Moines and Mike Matter (Janelle) of Ankeny; his grandchildren, Zach (Nicole), Haley and Hannah; his siblings, Darlene Schmidt (Chuck) of Ames and Darold Matter (Jean) of Lytton; and his great grandchild Beau. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Darwin's memory to Emanuel St. John Lutheran Church in Lytton.
