We bid farewell to Ellis Byriel of Lytton, Iowa, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on May 30, 2025 at the age of 86. Ellis touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth M. Byriel and Lorraine Byriel (Anderson); his wife Nelma Byriel; his son Brian Byriel; his parents-in-law, Howard and Lillian Davis; his siblings, Marilyn Cates and Carl Byriel; and his siblings-in-law, Maxine Cook, Donnabell Kilpela, Luella Zimmer, Burnice Mandernach and Marvin Davis.
He is survived by: his children, Bruce Byriel (Tracie) of Colfax, LA, Bart Byriel (Barbara) of Estherville, IA and Brenda Martin (Randy) of Nixa, MO; his grandchildren, Brad Joy, Corey Joy (Julie) and Jessica Jeseritz (Jeremy); his great grandchildren, Ivy Smith (Riley), Kaden, Karleigh, Kenzie (Cole), Maverick Joy, Keaton, Jace and Wyatt Jeseritz; his sister-in-law Ramona Davis of Lakeville, MN; and his nephew Bill Cates (Kay). He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home (1120 W Main St, Sac City, IA 50583). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Emanuel-St. John Lutheran Church (215 Walnut Ave, Lytton, IA 50561).
