We announce the death of Adella M. Nagengast of Madrid, Iowa, who passed away on August 22, 2026, at the age of 84. Adella will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Blatt and Edna Blatt (Paulson); her husband Dennis Nagengast; and her sister Anita Jansen. She is survived by: her children, Julie Capaldo (Bill) of Polk City and Paul Nagengast (Tonya) of Pocahontas; her grandchildren, Jessica, Cali (Ben), Anthony (Carlye), Kelsey (Brandon), Hannah (Adam), Tanner, Jada (Jake) and Ryan; and her sister Becky Goebel. She is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 26th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Powers Funeral Home - Pocahontas (502 4th Ave NE, Pocahontas, IA 50574). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church (11 SW 2nd St, Pocahontas, IA 50574). A burial was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at the St. Columbkille Cemetery.
