He was predeceased by: his mother Lucille Cook (Lungren); and his siblings, Lee, Larry, Wally, Vivian and Shirley.
He is survived by: his wife Georgianne Cook; his children, Michele Hockman (David) and Jim Fields; his grandson Travis Fields; and his sisters, Sharon Sindlinger (Mike) and Mary Fairbanks.
Gary then was employed in the maintenance department at the Hilton Garden Inn in West Des Moines until COVID, when he officially retired.
