He was predeceased by: his parents, William Widmer and Edith Edwards Widmer; his wife Judith Ritter; his brothers, Richard "Slim" Widmer and Rex Widmer; his son-in-law Kevin Hart; and his nephew Mark Widmer.
He is survived by: his children, Kim Wehrle (Bruce) of Montezuma, Kevin Widmer of Malcom and Kathy Moore (Jeremiah); his grandchildren, Morgan Berstler, Jake Berstler (Amy), Mary Widmer (Larry Somerville), Robert Widmer (Emily Gus), Jessica Mott (Travis), Dylan Felderman and Aidan Felderman (Hannah Crane); his great grandchildren, Shane, Henry, Iris, Kennady and Archer; and his sister-in-law LaRena Widmer. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 7th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Evangelical Church (303 E Washington St, Montezuma, IA 50171). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 8th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
