He is survived by: his wife Rita Vogel of Malcom; his children, Jeff Vogel (Dianne) of Tiffin, Mike Vogel (Lori) of Malcom and Laurie Jansen (Greg) of Malcom; his grandchildren, Jamie Vogel (Andy DeAngelo) of Grinnell, Jayde Vogel (Dakota) of Osceola, Tanner Jansen (Lexi) of Brooklyn, Maddie Major (Colton) of Newton, Kaylee Vogel (Koby Eaker) of Tiffin and Kyle Vogel of Tiffin; and his great grandchildren, Makenzie, Jacob, Jaxon DeAngelo of Grinnell, Blakely Jansen of Brooklyn and Miles Major of Newton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Smith Funeral Home (1103 Broad St, Grinnell, IA 50112). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the Michael J. Manatt Community Center (105 Jackson St, Brooklyn, IA 52211).
