It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Nelson Smith of Manchester, Iowa, who passed away on October 15, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Smith and Elizabeth Smith (Adams); his wife Shirley Smith (Weston); his daughters, Sherry Smith and Constance "Connie" Brandt (Dale); his brother Chester Smith (Betty); and his brother-in-law Max Schweitzer.
He is survived by: his children, David Smith (Jodie), Darren Smith (Sabrina) and Stephanie Reineck (Michael); his grandchildren, Joseph "Joey" Smith, Shanna Snitker (Andy), Madisen Smith (Ben Biggins), Samantha Smith, Jacob Smith (Meghan), Hannah Homolka (Cameron), Thomas Reineck and Matthew Reineck; and his siblings, Betty Schweitzer and Darold Smith (Linda). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (119 W Fayette St, Manchester, IA 52057).
