He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Shelly and Helen Shelly (Dunham); and his daughter Suzy Goodsell. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Shelly; his daughter Lori Opat (Mick) of Decorah; his son-in-law Dan Routhe of Big Lake; his grandchildren, Katlynn, Elisa and Matthew; and his siblings, Mary Fuscaldo (James) of Indianapolis In and Dr. Tom Shelly (JoAnn) of Fort Dodge. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
