He was predeceased by : his parents, Harold William and Bernice Margarite Durner (Victor); and his siblings, Alice Barner, Judy Thompson, Kenneth Carder and James Durner.

He is survived by : his wife Mary; his children, Stuart Durner (Vanessa) and Kate Durner (Ties Brants); his grandsons, Daniel and Jonathan; and his sister Diane Judd.
