He was predeceased by : his parents, Richard McKenna and Katherine McKenna (Peterson); his wife Joyce; and his siblings, Karen Schoon, Tom and Tami McKenna.

He is survived by : his children, Duane McKenna Jr. of Escondido, CA, Douglas McKenna of San Manuel, AZ, Kristi McKenna-Rabe (Steve) of Rockwell City, IA and Clint Besaw; his stepmother Carol McKenna of Livermore, IA; and his siblings, Rick, Jodi, Cindy and Dan. He is also survived by son; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.
