We are sad to announce that on July 27, 2025, at the age of 78, Barbara Jean Merrick of Maquoketa, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Eugene and Anna Mae Potter (Risinger); and her siblings, Gary, Richard, Michael, James Potter and Delores Potter.
She is survived by: her husband Clifford "Clif" Merrick Jr. of Maquoketa, IA; her children, Sharla Merrick (Chad Galer) of St. Paul, MN, Shane Merrick (Shelly) of Solon, IA, Shelli Jandura (Martin) of St. Charles, IL and Shawna Roberts (D'Arcy) of Ft. Wayne, IN; her grandchildren, Zachary Grauberger, Morgan Galer, Benjamin Galer, Codey Merrick, Brandon Merrick, Jayden Merrick, Teagan Jandura, Melanie Jandura, Grant Jandura and Logan Roberts; and her siblings, William "Bill" Potter (Ardyth) of Maquoketa, IA, Nancy Redmon of Cedar Rapids, IA and Carol Norville (Tom) of Venice, FL.
A prayer will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Maquoketa (318 W Pleasant St, Maquoketa, IA 52060). Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Carson Celebration (318 W Pleasant St, Maquoketa, IA 52060). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (200 S Vermont St, Maquoketa, IA 52060).
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be directed to the family.
