He is survived by: his wife Sharon Hoffman of Dallas, TX; his children, Dr. Jeffrey (Roxanne Rettig), David (Jennifer Rettig) and Susanne Rettig (Tracy Zaffino); his brother Jerry (Marge Rettig); his grandchildren, Jasmine Rettig of Fort Meade, MD, Clayton, Kristin Rettig of Midland, TX, Austin, Leslie Rettig of Dallas, TX, Adrianne, Zach Ledford of Groesbeck, TX, Bogdan Rettig of Wisconsin Dells, WI. and Katya Rettig of Champaign, IL; his great grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jackson, Jacquelyn, Jace, Madeline, Everett Liam, James, Thomas Rettig and Isaac Ledford; his sister-in-law Cynthia Hoffman; and his nieces, Kim Hamann of Ohio, Becky Penrod of Ohio, Tracy Maimone of Ohio, Tina Roughton of Ohio, Holly King, Jill Rettig and Lori Rettig.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church (210 E Platt St, Maquoketa, IA 52060).
