He was predeceased by : his parents, Berthold Schaefer and Ann Schaefer (Pliess); and his wife Patricia Schaefer (Pat). He is survived by : his children, Ron Schaefer (Chris) of Maquoketa, IA, Terry Schaefer and Cyndi Czajka (Mike); and his brother Udo Schaefer.
