He was predeceased by : his parents, James E. Turner and Lauretta A. Turner (Hoyer). He is survived by : his wife Michelle Bender; his sister Lynette Ostwinkle; his children, Robin Jones (Rob) of North Carolina, Renee' Earnest (Nathan) of North Carolina, Brittany Ray (Michael) of South Carolina and Deanna Parris (Konagher) of Florida; his stepdaughter Heidi Oglesby (Jake); his grandchildren, Courtney Jones, Calyssa Dawson (Chase), Chantel Jones, Aurora, Kallum Parris and Arlo Oglesby; and his great grandchild Harlan Jones.

Randy had his body donated to the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.
