He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Rekemeyer and Alverna Rekemeyer (Goettsch); his wife Jan; and his brother Ron Rekemeyer. He is survived by: his granddaughters, Maddy and Abby; his children, Whitney Meyer (Nick) of Maquoketa, IA, Annette Green of Idaho and Jason Rekemeyer of Maquoketa; his sister Peggy Mejia (Renee) of Mesa, Arizona; and his nephew Mike Rekemeyer of Davenport.
